I’m excited to share some updates on the Brand Consulting Collective, an initiative we started in the fall of 2022. We’ve not piloted the concept with a few entrepreneurs, and we’ll take on a new batch of entrepreneurs now.
The collective operates under The Simple Company® brand, and we have both business coaches and brand consultants under this label. This way, we can help SME’s (primarily entrepreneurially owned businesses) build their brands and business in an integrated way (which is the only right way to build a brand anyway).
Again, the reason for combining brand and business is simply because brands exist to serve business needs, and this way we’ll have a massive advantage over conventional brand consultants who focus mostly on brand communications. Plus, small business owners want business results, not just a nice visual identity or website :)
In 2023, the plan is to have a few dozen consultants working both independently, but also collaboratively across the globe. We already have a presence in the US, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, and the Nordics as I am writing this.
I’ll address many of the questions you might have below, and in the FAQ at the bottom of the page.
1. The Business Model
The Simple Company® does not operate like an agency model, but rather, as a done—with you consultancy and coaching business.
For those who already own a design business, TSC can complement what you do by adding that high-value strategy component.
We first explored a franchise model. That model has now become more integrated into The Future Academy’s business, giving the brand consultants access to a highly leveraged business model that can scale beyond a standard consulting model. In essence, I am giving everyone who joins access to my business model, including all my products, training (both existing, and more stuff I am creating). This will save people at least a year or two compared to doing it themselves. Plus, the business model is highly leveraged, which means you can take on many more clients and earn a higher margin.
The model we’ll be applying is “done with you”, rather than “done for you”. It means taking clients through a set of standardized processes, including training, tools, etc. You’ll be able to use all my proven methods, frameworks, recorded training, etc. to avoid having to do everything hands-on. But you also have the freedom to do so, should you want to.
With this model, you should be able to serve between 10-30 clients at a time, earning you between $15-50k per month (depending on pricing, and a few other variables. You can also leverage your business further by hiring staff, and why not grow beyond 1 million per year.
The partnership works on a minimum of a 1-year contract and a revenue-sharing model that has different percentages built into it, depending on who brings in the client, how long it stays, etc.
We will start to explore with paid ads, so we could potentially bring you clients too, taking out the time-consuming work of prospecting and selling. We have an in-house sales team at The Future Academy® which we can leverage to provide you with clients. However, this is a bonus, and we need to do testing before we can commit to this. You would pay for the client acquisition through the commission model. You’ll earn more when you bring in your own clients compared to getting them from the “central system” (because there is a cost to client acquisition).
2. The Brand
We’re operating under The Simple Company® brand. We show up as one global brand with the same frameworks, offerings, and tools. This way we provide consistent value and we collectively improve stuff. This is a non-negotiable for us.
The name includes the word “simple”, which means everything we do (and how we do it) is rooted in helping clients leverage simplicity as a means to build their brands and business.
3. The Offering
What are we selling? We’re helping small businesses build brands by leveraging simplicity. The problem most companies have is that their customers (and employees) lack clarity and focus. They are too complex, mediocre, and boring to drive attention and customer choice.
Unlike conventional “Branding” solutions, we offer a model that combines Strategy, Innovation, and Branding.
Where most branding offerings merely scratch the surface and focus on “brand communications” for execution, our focus is to drive brand and business transformation from the “inside out”, not just by “painting the outside”. This is the model I applied for almost 15 years in my brand consulting business.
You’ll define a bold, differentiating, relevant, and SIMPLE brand idea, then use it to drive innovation, culture change, and the design of the whole brand experience.
You’ll have a broad range of productized and standardized solutions to sell, ranging from research to brand strategy, culture, brand innovation, and branding.
You’ll meet the client where they are through a process we apply.
We sell a monthly membership as our main offering. The membership gives the client access to “everything they need”. However, we’re not selling the execution, the design, or anything like that. But you can sell that separately and earn money if you want.

We’re looking for people who are ambitious and have enough skills to be able to take clients through strategic brand-building programs.
I will personally mentor and coach you, and be your behind-the-scenes resource to support you all the way.
If you are scared of selling, putting out content, etc., this is not for you. Also, unless your optimism and belief in a better future for yourself and your clients overpower the negativity of your clients (and the world), this will not be your thing.
You will have to bring in clients yourself, in addition to getting clients through the system.
The first 2 months will be about rigorous training and prospecting. Once you prove yourself after two months, you’ll be officially crowned and part of the global brand consulting collective. Well, I’m not sure collective is the right term any longer, but you get what I mean. You’ll be an entrepreneur among entrepreneurs, operating a “hybrid” model where you work under one brand.
There is a fee for joining, but you’ll make it back when you make your first couple of sales. The fee is for all the training we provide, including all my materials (incl. Certified Brand Consultant), and much more.
We’ll train you on marketing, sales, delivery….all of it.
We want to make this lots of fun too. Once we have reached critical mass, we’ll throw some nice get-togethers, client events, etc around the world.

FAQ
I already own an agency and I don’t want to change my name, would I qualify?
If you don’t sell strategic brand consulting services under your name, i.e. if you don’t compete with TSC, you might qualify. In fact, the TSC offering can bring you lots of execution work, if that is what you want. Having said that, we want to find people who commit to TSC so that you don’t become a passive member. For this reason, we have minimum fee we charge per month. It’s very small, but it weeds out those that join for the training and support, but don’t do the work.
