Turn Your Business Into A Product
I have yet to meet an entrepreneur who does not want freedom, whether it means financial freedom, time freedom, or something else. But how do you achieve it? Design your business into a product.
You might know that I am very bullish on productizing your service business. It’s a fantastic strategy for higher profitability, a more predictable business, and scalability.
After seven years of “roller-coaster entrepreneurship”, I’ve been productizing pretty much everything I do.
But what if we take this idea one step further? What if you approached your whole business as if it was a product? What if you designed your business to work like clockwork?
Almost ten years ago, I registered The Simple Company® as a trademark. The idea behind it is a philosophy and method for building a business that works, even when you don’t.
Simple companies are significantly more profitable and scalable than “normal”, i.e. complex companies. But why?
Two reasons, mainly.
There is something I call a front-stage in your business. Your proposition, i.e. your offering, branding, marketing, and customer experience are all part of your front stage because they directly impact how you are perceived. And how you are perceived affects your brand, which affects how many customers buy, how often, and at which prices. So the front stage is how you bring in money.
Simplifying your front stage can dramatically improve your profitability, especially if you make your offerings easier to buy, easier, and better to use. Simplicity is not easy, but if you choose to develop fewer offers for fewer types of customers, you are on the right path.
You also have a backstage, of course. Your backstage is your business operations, how you deliver value at a profit. Simplifying your backstage can lead to fewer processes, fewer suppliers, fewer raw materials (inputs), and thereby a more efficient operating system. And if that sounds like a boring term, think of it as more profits by doing less.
In the video below, I share an overview of what I have termed The Simple Company®
It’s a complete system for building a brand and business that works. Well, that’s an understatement (I come from the Nordics, and we’re humble…) Let me have a go at another way to put it.
Building a Simple Company will allow you to make your dream real. It will give you more money, more time, and more freedom. And I know that’s what you want, isn’t it?

psst. Soon we will take on consultants and coaches who want to do this for a living, as entrepreneurs…coaching business owners on this model. Let me know if that excites you.
I am building a new venture that will be built around The Simple Company®, and we’re looking for a few entrepreneurs for this franchise, people who will work on either of two sides; BRAND (proposition), or BUSINESS (operations).
We’re currently in the process of recruiting brand consultants who want to be part of this, and soon we will also bring in business consultants & coaches.
I’d love to hear what you think in the comments!
